The Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance: STAMP

The STAMP program was designed to engage more Philadelphian teenagers, from ages 14 to 19, in the different cultural and educational experiences that the city has to offer, as well as opening up more opportunities to learn outside of the classroom.  

Committee of 70: WeVote

The Committee of Seventy is a nonpartisan civic leadership organization founded in 1904. They have a major role in Pennsylvania politics reducing corruption and ensuring a true democratic government. Some of their successes include the ban on cash gifts to elected officials, helping to educate voters on voter ID rules, and pressuring candidates for governor to provide detailed solutions to education crises. With a mission to advance “representative, ethical and effective government in Philadelphia and Pennsylvania through citizen engagement and public policy advocacy.”

Bodhi Surf and Yoga

Bodhi Surf & Yoga is committed to connecting individuals’ minds and bodies to the earth helping guests experience the “Pura Vida” way of life. Bodhi provides a vacation experience that is driven by the desire to make a positive change in the world. While they are there, guests gain a deeper understanding of surf and yoga lifestyles, mind-body-earth connection, and the small Costa Rican community that Bodhi is a part of.

The Free Library: Read by 4th

Read by 4th is a citywide campaign that ensures all children are able to read on grade level by the time they reach the fourth grade. The fourth grade is a crucial part of a child’s education because it is the year that “instruction shifts from learning to read to reading to learn.” Read by 4th is committed to transforming Philadelphia’s children into strong readers.
